Is there any chance to find a part time job as a student other than teaching English in schools?

Hello everyone, I'm currently a master degree student living in Shanghai, I'd like to find a part time job while I'm here .

My visa is a student X2 visa.

I found some teaching English jobs but they're all in schools, but I don't wanna take the risk because its illegal to work on a X2 visa especially that I'm studying on Chinese government scholarship.

For those who have experienced the same situation, do you have any suggestions of where can i find a decent part time job other than teaching English ?

I would check the smart Shanghai and other expat sites for ads. There are all kinds of jobs available in Shanghai, however what you will get depends on your qualifications and time availability. Teaching English is the easiest because many schools do not ask for any kind of qualification other than you being foreign and being able to speak (at least some) English.

 

For all other kind positions there will be more competition, so it will not be as easy. I have had friends who worked as models, TV extras, translators, kindergarten teachers, sales, market researchers, KTV hosts etc. etc. while doing a degree in China.
