Could someone please explain to me what the phrase (idiom?) 将错就错 means?

I first heard it in a line of Sun Yan Zi song:

绝不再将错就错

听信任何借口

爱若予取予求

Here's the standard definition from 新华词典 2001 Revised Edition:

将错就错 -- 事情既然已经做错了，索性顺着错的做下去。

It's like you realize something is done in the wrong way, and you say well it's too late to correct it now, it's done it's done, and just go on finishing it the wrong way. I hope this makes sense.
