James3 Posted March 10, 2015 at 05:32 PM Report Posted March 10, 2015 at 05:32 PM Ever since I embarked on my journey to learn Mandarin, I've sent inquiries to several schools in China. By now, I'm on several e-mail lists from various schools. One of them is Hutong School. So when I got an e-mail today from them, describing how they're going to have a webinar titled "How to get a job in China", on March 14th, at 11:00 a.m. GMT+1, I thought I'd post the link here kind of as a community service: http://www.hutong-school.com/webinar-how-get-job-china I've seen several people post questions regarding finding work in China. Maybe this webinar can answer some questions. I hope it's informative. Though I'm not currently looking for work in China, if you attend the forum and find it interesting and helpful, please come back here and post what you learned so others can benefit from what you learn. Simon_CH Posted March 12, 2015 at 03:06 PM Report Posted March 12, 2015 at 03:06 PM You might want to edit your title to "how to land a teaching job in China". Quote
James3 Posted March 13, 2015 at 05:44 PM Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 at 05:44 PM Hey Simon_CH, good question. Exactly what kind of jobs are they talking about? So I signed up for the webinar to try and find out. I got a follow up email, just confirming I had signed up. The "reply to" email address belonged to a lady named Laura, so I replied, and asked what kind of jobs would be discussed, and here's the reply I got back: "Thank you for signing up for the webinar! It will be about how to get a job in China in general, not any specific types of job. So I will talk about advises for entering the labour market in China and the situation there. Then of course there will be a Q&A session in the end and you can ask questions about different types of jobs." Quote
Simon_CH Posted March 14, 2015 at 07:24 PM Report Posted March 14, 2015 at 07:24 PM Report back James, I'm curious what they can tell you that we don't know, but not enough to subscribe ;-) Quote
James3 Posted March 14, 2015 at 08:22 PM Author Report Posted March 14, 2015 at 08:22 PM I was curious too, but not enough to get up that early. :-) I live in the GMT - 7 time zone, and the webinar was at 11:00 a.m. GMT + 1. Did anyone attend it, and care to report back? Quote
