AzraRillian Posted March 18, 2015 at 09:26 AM Report Posted March 18, 2015 at 09:26 AM So, a while ago I found out that an anagram for my name was "Transcend The Sin", and I always thought this was cool, especially since it's something I truly believe in; that if you commit a sin or mistake, you need to find a way to redeem yourself, to overcome what you've done and be a better person. As such, I would like to know what the chinese translation of "transcend the sin" or "transcending the sin" is. Someone told me that it could be translated as 战胜邪恶 but someone else told me that that was closer to overcoming evil or conquering evil. So I'm also wondering if this is true, or if it's just that 战胜邪恶 is the closest translation you can get to "transcend the sin". Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
Shelley Posted March 18, 2015 at 12:48 PM Report Posted March 18, 2015 at 12:48 PM What you need to understand is that not everything can be translated in to Chinese and preserve the same meaning. Lots of things get lost in the translation. One meaning is to prevail, to surmount evil. It probably is the closest you will get. I hope you are not thinking of having this as a tattoo. It just won't come across as you would like it to. Quote
