Wahed Posted April 4, 2015 at 07:08 AM Report Share Posted April 4, 2015 at 07:08 AM Our school wants to get students access to one or both of these programs. I wonder what you all think of them. For me, Yabla seems to be a low-budget alternative to SCOLA. And over 500 lessons of Chinesepod is already pretty easily available online in certain places. So, I'm not sure if it's worth getting either of them but if I had to choose it seems that Chinesepod would be the better buy since we already have SCOLA access. What do you think?
dr0pe Posted May 7, 2015 at 03:20 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 03:20 PM Chinesepod is very good. Nowadays a find it expensive though
Qiaonansen Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:28 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 at 06:28 PM I like Chinese Pod as well. If each student is going to have their own login, they will have access to the online resources as well such as flashcards.
Wahed Posted May 8, 2015 at 12:36 AM Author Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 at 12:36 AM Yabla was chosen since a lot of Chinesepod material is already on the web.
Daryn Posted May 10, 2015 at 12:25 AM Report Share Posted May 10, 2015 at 12:25 AM Can I get a comparison between ChinesePod and Yabla? Wahed mentioned Yabla's content is unique and ChinesePod's can be found on the Internet. I think we can find most material on the Internet now. Wahed Posted May 21, 2015 at 06:12 PM Author Report Share Posted May 21, 2015 at 06:12 PM Well, from what I have seen, Yabla's material is not online yet. At least, it's not on any of the sites that I frequent. I didn't really do a deep search though either but I think if Yabla's material was online it would have popped up. Basically from what I can see, Yabla's material is similar to the language learning stuff you would find on SCOLA. Authentic materials with transcripts and vocabulary sheets about a number of topics.
