Rhuang Posted April 5, 2015 at 02:12 AM Report Posted April 5, 2015 at 02:12 AM I only have 4 weeks until I take the AP Chinese exam. My speaking is worse than my dancing and I need so much help. What are the BEST sources to help cram speaking skills into my brain? Thanks! Quote

Shelley Posted April 6, 2015 at 08:50 PM Report Posted April 6, 2015 at 08:50 PM Would be fun to see but on a more helpful note (hopefully) I would like to suggest TPRS. Have a look at this thread here http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/46693-any-experience-with-tprs/ I had a few taster sessions with Eszter and really enjoyed it, it also boosted my confidence. When I have more time I would like to do some more. Hope this helps and if you do try it, it would interesting to hear what you thought. Hope the exam goes well Quote
Rhuang Posted April 7, 2015 at 01:46 AM Author Report Posted April 7, 2015 at 01:46 AM a good visual for those interested...my dancing resembles a potato rolling around + an octopus flailing on the floor Shelley, do the sessions cost any money? Quote
Shelley Posted April 7, 2015 at 09:49 AM Report Posted April 7, 2015 at 09:49 AM Yes i believe there is a small charge but I am not sure what, the taster sessions were free. Have a look at her website here http://miraculousmandarin.weebly.com/ Quote

New Members Ryanteachme Posted April 28, 2015 at 07:33 AM New Members Report Posted April 28, 2015 at 07:33 AM I have been studying Chinese for about 1 year so far and have been struggling a lot with my pronunciation. Recently I found this amazing FREE app I'm hooked on. (I'm a student so I only really use free resources). Has anyone else tried "Social Language"? http://www.social-language.com/#home It has a messaging function like wechat or dozen other apps but I love this one because it has "speaking lessons" built in where I record myself reading various phrases in Chinese and native speakers listen and give me feed back. FINALLY an app I can use to fix my sloppy Chiense pronunciation. Any anyone else tried it? There are WAY more Chinese than English speakers on it currently so I feel super popular as over hundreds people have sent me chat requests in my 1st month. Quote
