New Members Fuli Ren Posted April 10, 2015 at 07:14 AM New Members Report Share Posted April 10, 2015 at 07:14 AM Hi, I have engaged in making some videos for learning Chinese. These videos are free to watch on YouTube or Youku. In the videos you could learn Chinese pronunciation and elementary level Chinese. I would like to get more feedbacks about how you feel these videos. Thanks! Demonic_Duck Posted April 10, 2015 at 09:20 AM Report Share Posted April 10, 2015 at 09:20 AM Looks good, has a very professional feel to it, and it's good that you start with pinyin and place emphasis on pronunciation. If you're looking for recommendations, my main one (to the teacher in the video) would be to talk more expressively in English - use body language, intonation and facial expressions (especially smiling!) to your advantage. Pretend the camera (or the person holding the camera) is your friend, and your telling her/him about something really cool which you're excited about. If that part of the video has something on the green screen to your left, gesture/point to it as if you're a teacher pointing at the blackboard, or a weather forecaster pointing at the map. Other than that, good job! (Have to admit I only took a quick glance at a couple of the videos, so maybe other folks will have more detailed feedback for you.) Edit: actually, there's a marked improvement (body language/intonation/facial expressions) in the later videos, I posted this having only watched a bit of a couple of the early ones.
