You don't get to speak to a person though; your speech is rated by computer software. If that doesn't instil you with confidence, note that until very recently, the Pearson Test of English (same company, so I assume it's the same technology) could be used to get UK visas, so it must be backed up by an appropriate volume of research. I see that in the example test report it even gives an equivalent HSK score, so perhaps this test could be of use to would-be HSK-takers. Quote
