chinese sentences - correct or incorrect?

Recommended Posts

I currently have to write a chinese text, but I'm still not very good at it. So I wanted to ask if you could help me correcting those sentences. I've written those chinese sentences, but I'm not sure if they are right. In case they are incomprehensibly, I wrote in English what I mean. Thanks for helping!!!

我们的朋友不在食堂,所以我得独自吃饭。My friends weren't at the canteen, so I had to eat alone.

忽然一个女孩来了. Suddenly a girl came (to me).

我跟她有一点儿聊天了,后来 我们都有一门课。We were chatting a bit, after that we both had courses.

下课后 after the lesson

后来我就回家。then i went back home.

how do I say: I am very happy, that we are friends now. ???

I think they are OK except the third one. Consider 我跟她聊了一會兒,之後我們都要上課. (I write in traditional Chinese.)

As to your question, consider 我很高興我們現在成了朋友.

有一点儿 is usually used immediately before adjective to modify it.

To describe an action which only lasts for a short while, you could put 一会儿 after the main verb: 我跟她聊了一会儿。

Hope it's helpful :-)

Agree with Skylee: 有一门课 sounds somewhat Englishy.

To say "eat alone," I'd go with the simple 一个人吃饭.

The usual disclaimer is that I am not necessarily correct, but I would say this:

因为我的朋友们不在食堂,所以我一个人吃饭了。
I've used the basic grammar structure of “因为(because)。。。所以(therefore)。。。”. This is fairly standard in Chinese. It's the reverse to the English way, but's its much the same. It's basically a way of more strongly defining 'cause + result'.
一个人 is the typical way of saying "on my own".

忽然一个女生来我那儿了。
I used 女生 because that means female student. You used 女孩 which means 'little girl'. Is that what you meant?
And I said 来我那儿 because it's the way to turn pronouns and 'moveable objects' into locations.
eg. “等一下,我去你那儿” - Wait a second, I'll go to where you are.
or. “来我这儿吧” - Come to where I am.

我们聊了一会儿天,后来分开去上课了。
聊了一会儿天 - This is how to give timeframes to these kind of 'double-barrelled' verbs. I think it's officially called a 'verb-object'.
So you have 聊 - timeframe - 天。 "Talked - for a while - 'a period of time'". (聊天 alone kind of means 'chatted some time'.)
I then used 分开 as this means 'to separate'.
Your version was a bit more vague. It basically said, "then we both have a class." However the way you used it there is too broad. Your usage simply implied that you both had classes at some point in your overall schedule. But I think you wanted to say, "we had classes at that moment." Hence me saying:
后来 分开 去 上课了 - Afterwards, separated, and went, to attend class.
A great thing in Chinese is how you can just string verbs together like that.
Also note how I didn't use 我们 in the second part of the sentence. It's not needed because the subject is implied from the first part.

下课以后我就回家了。
I don't think there's much to explain here. What you wrote seemed pretty much fine to me.
I just added 以后 because it seems to read a bit more naturally to me - "下课以后"

今天我交一个朋友了,我很高兴。
This is how I would say the final sentence. "Today I made a friend, I'm very happy."
The verb for making friends is 交 (although it's is a very broadly defined character, so don't think of it as being specific to making friends. In fact it's most common usage is for something completely different).
I'm not actually sure of my grammar here either. It might need to be 我交一个新朋友了. Or maybe it needs to be something else entirely!

I hope that helps.

Conclusion:
因为我的朋友们不在食堂,所以我一个人吃饭了。
忽然一个女生来我那儿了。
我们聊了一会儿天,后来分开去上课了。
下课以后我就回家了。
今天我交一个朋友了,我很高兴。

My friends weren't at the canteen, so I had to eat alone.

朋友沒(來)去食堂,只好一個人吃飯。

Suddenly a girl came (to me).

忽然來了一個女生。

一女生忽至。

We were chatting a bit, after that we both had courses.

閒話須臾,後來又(各自)上了(幾、兩)堂課。

閒話須臾,既而各自去上課。

After the lesson, then I went back home.

下課我就回家了。

下了課,我就回家了。

課畢,歸。

I am very happy, that we are friends now.

我們現在是朋友啦,我好高興!

今得結新朋,甚樂。

I think I've figured out the whole story. :P

Well, it's a joke.
