naijahusker Posted April 22, 2015 at 08:46 PM Report Share Posted April 22, 2015 at 08:46 PM I stumbled on Ms Zou Youtube channel many months ago and she has some interesting content for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. Most of her videos are mostly in English explaining Chinese vocab, grammar etc (I had no interest in those), but then she has these other Chinese versions where she teaches the same lessons in all Chinese. They are really short, few minutes at most. I found those to be great listening practice since the topics are accessible and the visuals help. The sad part is that she made only 9 of those Chinese-only types. She has 8 where she is just reading a new article for advanced learners. I messaged her a long while ago commending her videos and asking for more of the Chinese only ones. She said she would but hasn't. I was wondering if she lacks motivation from lack of views. I just really feel that she does quality and helpful work to get only 100 views. So I'm hoping if more people watch, benefit and comment she might start back up again. Here is an example where she explains the 4 tones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFD6tse-ocQ
stapler Posted April 23, 2015 at 01:24 AM Report Share Posted April 23, 2015 at 01:24 AM I really like the ones in Chinese. Too bad they're so short!
New Members Julie Zou Posted April 25, 2015 at 10:18 PM New Members Report Share Posted April 25, 2015 at 10:18 PM Hi Naijahusker, thank you for watching my videos. One of my audience contacted me and send me this link. I'm really glad to get such helpful feedback from you. I want to apologize for not updating for a long time. I was tied up with my graduate research and thesis and doesn't have enough time to keep making more videos. Most likely, I will start again in Mid-May. Reading your comments really inspires and encourages me to go back on track as soon as possible! And more importantly, making more and more videos with better quality that people benefit from! 谢谢!
Flickserve Posted April 26, 2015 at 10:44 AM Report Share Posted April 26, 2015 at 10:44 AM I don't mind short videos - sometimes, amateur videos are a bit long winded for me. I have watched a few of the videos and I quite like her style. It's not easy to make videos that can keep the interest of the viewer. Hi Julie, Glad to see you here! This is the same guy "Eji Onye" that left a comment on your channel a few days ago. I'm just trying to get the word out about your videos as I feel a lot of people will benefit. Like I said before you deserve more views for the quality and usefulness of your videos. Thanks for the new uploads and I look forward to new ones in May. Also any chance you can make a Chinese version playlist so they are easier to find. Thanks
