Hi all..

I am a new member here  8)

I have a question, hopefully someone can help me.

I am living in China and I have tried to build a website using Weebly and Yola.

But I cannot access Weebly site builder now (maybe it is blocked?), so I can not edit my website, however I can access my website easily.

Then I built a website using Yola and I bought a custom domain name from them. This time I can access Yola site builder, but my website is not stable, sometimes I can access it sometimes it gets blocked.

Anybody can suggest me what kind of site builder I can use?

thanks

If you wish your website to be reliably accessible in China, then you should have it hosted in China. Some say Hong Kong web hosts are just as accessible in the Mainland. If you have a public-facing website hosted in China, you are required to have a license, called ICP license. This all sucks a lot, but that's the reality of the internet in China. Any non-chinese website is subject to becoming inaccessible for any length of time at any momment with no warning or explanation.

To be precise, if you do not have a unique domain name you are not required to have an ICP license, so if your address is something like magda.baidu.com instead of www.supermagda.com then you don't need to worry.

hi metal.lunchbox,

thanks a lot for your information  :P

Can you name some chinese websites that will allow me to use their subdomain? Do you mean I can use baidu as you mentioned above?

I also had trouble maintaining my GoDaddy site. I resolved to using proxies to access admin panels and upload updated content. Wasn't easy, but worked ok.
