Flickserve Posted May 14, 2015 at 03:53 AM Report Posted May 14, 2015 at 03:53 AM Dunno about you guys but I find it intensely difficult to remember tones. Reading a word is much easier. Are there any fonts for just tones? I will place them above the Chinese word and try to avoid the pinyin. I have these symbols from my keyboard - / v \ But they are not aesthetic. Are there any better fonts to represent the tones? Quote
imron Posted May 14, 2015 at 04:14 AM Report Posted May 14, 2015 at 04:14 AM Do you mean you want individual characters for each tone that you can then place on a line above the Chinese characters? If so, what you want are these: ¯ Macron - U+00AF ´ Acute Accent - U+00B4 ˇ Caron - U+02c7 ` Grave Accent - U+0060 Quote

Basil Posted May 14, 2015 at 08:40 AM Report Posted May 14, 2015 at 08:40 AM Any way to make a program (or maybe automator on OS X) to automatically parse the text, check the dictionary, and format a page with all the correct tonal information? Quote
