Dunno about you guys but I find it intensely difficult to remember tones. Reading a word is much easier.

 

Are there any fonts for just tones? I will place them above the Chinese word and try to avoid the pinyin.

 

I have these symbols from my keyboard

 

- / v \

 

But they are not aesthetic. Are there any better fonts to represent the tones?

Any way to make a program (or maybe automator on OS X) to automatically parse the text, check the dictionary, and format a page with all the correct tonal information?
