Lu Posted May 20, 2015 at 12:42 PM Report Posted May 20, 2015 at 12:42 PM Here is a cool thing someone sent me: a link to the Encyclopaedia Sinica, compiled by Samuel Couling and published in 1917. Lots of collected wisdom of the time, from head-hunting barbarians in Taiwan to the short biography of an Englishman who never wrote anything about China (but lived there for a while) to the province of Ssuch'uan of which the border with Tibet is not entirely defined. The whole book has been scanned and can be read online. I thought perhaps someone here might find it interesting as well. 3 Quote
