NickOoze Posted May 30, 2015 at 02:44 AM Report Posted May 30, 2015 at 02:44 AM I want to sign up. However, I am confused because it keeps asking me for my phone number. I don't understand. I do not live in mainland china. But, I was curious if there is any way to get around registration? Quote
Demonic_Duck Posted May 30, 2015 at 10:54 AM Report Posted May 30, 2015 at 10:54 AM Does it not allow registration with international numbers (if you also include the appropriate international calling code, e.g. 0044 for the UK)? Quote
889 Posted May 30, 2015 at 01:13 PM Report Posted May 30, 2015 at 01:13 PM Look at those symbols at the bottom of the registration popup: you can also log-on using your ID from certain other sites, like QQ. Try out those sites and see if one will allow registration with only an email address. Quote
XiaoXi Posted June 1, 2015 at 12:45 AM Report Posted June 1, 2015 at 12:45 AM Everything in China now seems to require a phone number to sign up. But I'm guessing you already have a QQ account? Try using that. I signed up for Youku recently and had to use my phone number but I do live in China. Quote
James3 Posted June 1, 2015 at 02:37 AM Report Posted June 1, 2015 at 02:37 AM Not sure if this would work, or how much it would cost, but I found this: https://www.onesuite.com/china-phone-number It looks like you can get a virtual China number. Quote
889 Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:10 AM Report Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:10 AM You need to be able to receive texts on the number you register on Youku and most other Chinese websites, and there's nothing I find on the Onesuite site that indicates you can text the numbers they're selling. Quote
