m1kesta Posted June 7, 2015 at 09:32 PM Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 at 09:32 PM Looking for some beginner level videos, children's cartoons, shows, news to watch on YouTube, or other streaming websites. Would be great if they had the translation or something on the side. Maybe we can keep this a running log of videos.
arreke Posted June 7, 2015 at 10:53 PM Report Share Posted June 7, 2015 at 10:53 PM How about http://www.fluentu.com and https://www.yabla.com ? Some people on this forum posted several feedbacks about their content and say it is useful for the beginners.

oceancalligraphy Posted June 8, 2015 at 06:26 AM Report Share Posted June 8, 2015 at 06:26 AM For children's shows, I think 巧虎 has been mentioned in other threads. There are some playlists on YouTube, like this one. 櫻桃小丸子 is also fun (it's originally Japanese, about a little girl), and it looks like this YouTube user has some organized playlists. Another to try is 小叮噹 or 哆啦A夢 (Doraemon from Japan). I didn't find any complete playlists, I'd search for either name and 中文 in YouTube for some videos.

LiMo Posted June 13, 2015 at 04:44 PM Report Share Posted June 13, 2015 at 04:44 PM I'm afraid I can't offer any beginners suggestions at this point, at least as far as native materials go. If your text book is "The New Practical Chinese Reader" (NPCR) then they have dialogue videos from those on Youtube. I think it's a good introduction because they are basically native speed but you will have the script in your textbook to refer to if you get stuck. I'll have a look around in my bookmarks folder (god it's a mess) and see if I can turn up some old stuff that I've forgotten.
