oceancalligraphy Posted June 8, 2015 at 03:43 AM Report Posted June 8, 2015 at 03:43 AM I recently read about a BBC Four series called Art of China. I'm only able to view the clips and they cover some pretty interesting things. Maybe someone in the UK who has seen the series, or has access to it on iPlayer, can comment on it? Quote
arreke Posted June 8, 2015 at 04:43 AM Report Posted June 8, 2015 at 04:43 AM BBC and DISCOVERY videos are brilliant, unfortunately most of them originally made in English and often translated into Chinese, and rarely have both original versions not translated from each other, like 美丽中国 for instance, which was made in two versions, one in English for BBC, one in Chinese for CCTV, and listening about China in Chinese gave me completely different feeling, like watching movie in its original language, not its dubbed version )) Quote
ChTTay Posted June 8, 2015 at 08:55 AM Report Posted June 8, 2015 at 08:55 AM I haven't seen it but if you wanted to watch it in full ... You can torrent 'Art of China' ... but that depends how comfortable you are with doing that and where you are in the world (possibility of fines etc). You will probably be able to buy it on DVD at one point too. The BBC usually releases a DVD of it's documentaries eventually. Quote
arreke Posted June 9, 2015 at 04:46 AM Report Posted June 9, 2015 at 04:46 AM Could you please recommend some BBC or DISCOVERY quality Chinese documentaries in Chinese, like 美丽中国 ? Quote
GaHanna Posted June 9, 2015 at 09:11 AM Report Posted June 9, 2015 at 09:11 AM I have watched it and the presenter is one of the best when it comes to art, Andrew Graham-Dixon. The Torrent is out there. Quote
