I always feel awkward when someone addresses me that way. Can be quite the opposite at times I reckon; I have a couple of elderly neighbours we see a lot of in a neighbourly way who are ordinary farmers and I think it adds warmness to our relationship that I show them the respect due their age by addressing them as 您 whereas 你 would seem almost dismissive.
