Fluentu for teaching and learning – sharing resources

Recommended Posts

More people now seem to be using FluentU for teaching and learning Chinese.   It’s a very rich resource of authentic/semi-authentic listening and vocabulary and the basic membership is free.  It would be really helpful if users could use this thead to share tips about good Fluentu resources that worked well for specific things. Have you found anything good that worked well – as a teacher or a learner?

For starters, I found ‘Gravity Zero’  (4 videos making a mini-soap) worked really well as an end-of-year activity and the 4 episodes (plus occasional language and culture discussion) fit neatly into a one-hour lesson.

HelenD, can I ask if you yourself have any links to this FluentU group?

No, none at all! I'm a teacher & learner of Mandarin in UK & was recently discussing this resource with other teachers. We thought pooling our experience might make this tool more useful

Thanks Helen for sharing this info. I am studying Chinese and wondering if there is any resource for translation of  for a sentence or paragraph, like a voice translator.
