Tianjin42 Posted July 4, 2015 at 06:51 AM Report Posted July 4, 2015 at 06:51 AM My membership has expired and I will leave beijing soon. There is some useful information about gyms in Beijing on the forums already however I am seeking a gym where you can pay per session (without being ripped off). My current place is fairly reasonable when buying a membership but charges 150RMB per individual session. I have already found one place on 知春路 that is 30RMB per session which is great. It is a bit old school (read dirty, sweaty, meat heads) but that is all good with me. I'd be interested if there are another places around the city that might be more conveniently located. Thanks. ChTTay Posted July 4, 2015 at 07:33 AM Report Posted July 4, 2015 at 07:33 AM You can go to the gym located within Hua Qing Jia Yuan apartment complex (in Wudaokou) for 50rmb a time. At least you could last time I asked them about it. It has a gym and pool. All the weights and weightmachines work fairly well. Last time I went 10 of 12 running machines was broken and all the cross trainers are technically broken in that you can't change settings so you're just stuck on the lowest resistence. You didn't mention where you live/work so I'm not sure what would be convenient for you. Zhichunlu is next to Wdk though ... Quote
Tianjin42 Posted July 4, 2015 at 08:00 AM Author Report Posted July 4, 2015 at 08:00 AM Thanks - that's a great suggestion. I actually live near 呼家楼 subway but for the next week will be in the far west of the city. I am going to be moving around a lot so all suggestions are welcome. Quote
ChTTay Posted July 4, 2015 at 11:13 AM Report Posted July 4, 2015 at 11:13 AM Depending on what you want, you can get a pretty good work out at decent 'outdoor gyms' too. The ones in Tsinghua are pretty good, also the University of Geoscience (or geology?) in Wudaokou both have some good stuff. Both have running tracks nearby, some weight machines (with actual weights) then dipping/chin stations. Bring a skipping rope and you're set. Quote
