Can someone please help in identifying and translating the signature and seal of the artist I have attached to this post?

The signature and seal is from a painting on silk by the artist.

Thank you for any help!

First four characters: 香远益清 which seems to be both a quote and the title of an arts book (but I know nothing about art so...)

Fifth character: 仲 (could be a surname) but there's a squiggle underneath that I don't know how to read.

And the seal of course...

Hint: if you wish more people to take an interest in your queries, you might want to post a picture of the whole painting, and possibly some background information (where did you buy it, from whom etc), in addition to the zoomed-in picture of the characters.

Edit: the seal character looks like

And perhaps the squiggle is just 言 or maybe 之

I googled. On other paintings 杨仲之 used a 杨 seal.

Do you happen to know what is the meaning of the 纪 seal here?

I'm not sure if that's actually 纪 because the 己 looks a bit like 弓。

But there's no such word as 弓。

In Chinese calligraphy, that is known as 落款

Usually it indicates the name of the artist 姓名

Sometimes it is just a single-character used as a trademark 字号

纪 can mean "discipline", "century", "age", "record" etc

Thanks. The seal remains a mystery then.

the chineseetymology site (link in post #2) shows several versions of seal script 纪, including some with an almost 弓 shape... there could be a mistake on that website though...
