Praxis teacher exams

There is a series of exams given in the US, called Praxis, for teachers to show proficiency in a subject.  There is one for Mandarin.  Does anyone know anything about this exam?   Any idea of a correlation between it and the HSK?  How many words are necessary to pass the exam?
