Aiden5 Posted July 29, 2015 at 05:13 AM Report Posted July 29, 2015 at 05:13 AM My QQ keeps sending me to security and is telling me to have them send a verification email to my email. My gmail won't receive their emails. What to do? Quote
889 Posted July 29, 2015 at 11:33 AM Report Posted July 29, 2015 at 11:33 AM It's not really a good idea to use a gmail account when registering for any Chinese service. In any event, I doubt your gmail account "won't receive" the security emails. Instead, either qq can't/won't send to a gmail account or you're in China and can't access your gmail account. There may be ways around this, but I think the easiest approach would be to simply set up a new qq account with a Mainland email address. Quote

889 Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:04 PM Report Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:04 PM You mean can you download emails from gmail through AOL? Gmail normally allows this, but I don't use AOL -- and if I did I wouldn't admit it! -- so I don't know whether AOL has this option. Yahoo does. Quote
Aiden5 Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:07 PM Author Report Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:07 PM I just can't verify through phone calls. Also how do I find all of my old QQ friends? I don't know their QQ usernames though I did use their actual names to tell who it was. Quote
889 Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:13 PM Report Posted July 29, 2015 at 08:13 PM Sorry, I wouldn't admit to actually using qq, either! Quote
Demonic_Duck Posted July 30, 2015 at 01:19 PM Report Posted July 30, 2015 at 01:19 PM I've used my gmail address to sign up for loads of Chinese services, and it's never caused me any problems thus far. I'm assuming you've tried the obvious things (checking junk folder, waiting a little while to see if the email just got delayed)? Quote
Aiden5 Posted August 2, 2015 at 10:11 PM Author Report Posted August 2, 2015 at 10:11 PM Thanks guys, but I went through an appeal through QQ Security and it's up and running again. Thanks! Quote
