Need help with writing a chinese word

"Western" names (non-Chinese names) can be transliterated using different Chinese characters according to the circumstances.

For instance, if Dani is your daughter, sister or mother, you could use 丹妮.

If Dani is your girlfriend (or boyfriend), perhaps a simple 丹 is better. Perhaps a wedding ring is even better, that way Dani and you are on the same page and level of commitment.

ok, for a man 丹妮 may not be suitable, because 女 is for women.

Then I think you can write it 丹尼.

(The English male name Daniel is often written 丹尼尔).

Just note, 丹尼 written in roman letters is Danni with double n.

Edit: so if you want Dani with single n (if it matters to you), then 达尼 is better.

It's also a matter of which character you prefer, 丹 or 达.

means red or cinnabar.

means to reach, to attain.

originally means a Buddhist nun, but it is also used as a phonetic element for transliterations, so it's ok for a transliterated male name.

And the MDBG dictionary has an entry for 丹尼 (Danny) and (Daniel) but not for 达尼 - if that helps.
