China Visa Border Run (Erlianhaote/Erenhot, China to Mongolia)

This is for anyone that wants to renew their "duration of stay" through a shorter route other than going to the South of the border.

I know a guy that charges 300 RMB to pick you up from anywhere in Erlian/Erenhot then cross China/Mongolian border and then back to where you were before. 

Crossing the China/Mongolia border is a tricky process, you cannot cross the border on foot, you have to be in a moving vehicle. So it is a big hassle to ask Mongolians since they do not speak English or Chinese very well and you have to hitch a ride again on the way back since most of them are going one way.

Others can confirm if I'm right, but as I recall, I spent less than 200 RMB roundtrip (I think more like 120-150 RMB) crossing the border with the Mongolians the last two times I did this.

Sounds about right. You can either go take a taxi to the border and ask a random Mongolian for a ride and a ride back, or you can call up this guy and have him take you from the hotel to the border then wait for you at the border checkpoint and then back to your hotel.
