oblo Posted June 14, 2005 at 05:13 PM Report Posted June 14, 2005 at 05:13 PM Dajia nihao. I have a problem. I have some pdf files containing chinese simplified documents and I cannot transfer them to Wenlin board to elaborate them. A friend told me that the only way is via an Ocr software like Sharpeye, but I discovered that it is not freeware nor cheap. Someone knows another way to manage this file with Wenlin? Thank you, Ramon Quote
gato Posted June 15, 2005 at 12:21 AM Report Posted June 15, 2005 at 12:21 AM Have you tried selecting the Chinese text in Acrobat Reader and then copying and pasting into a text file? If the PDF was created from a word processing document or if the author had done an OCR when creating it, you should be able to copy and paste the text. If it was scanned in and stored as graphics, then that wouldn't work. Quote
oblo Posted June 15, 2005 at 07:07 AM Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 at 07:07 AM I tried to select the text in Acrobat Reader, but when I paste it in Word or Wenlin it doesn't recognize the font. So it is the second answer... Quote
aak Posted June 15, 2005 at 10:50 AM Report Posted June 15, 2005 at 10:50 AM You may have to paste it into Notepad as a regular ANSI text file then open it in Word and choose Encoded Text, then click "Other Encoding", then select Chinese Simplified --or Chinese Traditional-- Auto Select. Good Luck. Quote
ChinaPeace Posted January 3, 2006 at 11:46 PM Report Posted January 3, 2006 at 11:46 PM Are you sure that your pdf file has the Chinese as text and not as a picture? When you select the text, select it with the "select Text" tool rather than the square cut and paste an image tool. I have no problem copying text from Acrobat and opening it in Wenlin. Quote
