Skritter vs Remembr.it

Greetings!

I have been studying Chinese for about 5 months now and I am looking to trade in my flashcards and practice book for a more efficent way to memorize.

I have tried the demos for both and read a few forums on this site.

Has anyone here been using the current versions of either application?

How would you rate your experience using these systems?

I use pleco for my flash card needs. Plus it's so much more with just the basic bundle

Pleco is definitely the way to go in my opinion. I use Pleco daily, on my tablet and on my phone, wouldn't be without it.

The version I am using is up to date, updates are free.

If you buy the basic bundle that is a good start, then you can add more as and when you need it. Remember the free Pleco is not as good as paid Pleco.

The cost IMHO is very reasonable.

Skritter is very good but for a poor student like me too expensive. Pleco does have a stroke order addon which does allow you to practice stroke order, I use it.

I also use Hanzi Grids for writing practice, it too is very reasonably priced. Have a look here http://www.hanzigrids.com/

Edit: Just as an example of its popularity and usefulness http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/49442-a-plus-for-pleco/

Thank you so much for your reccomendations!

I have gone ahead and gotten both Pleco and Hanzi grids.

Have you noticed that Hanzi-grids.com has not been working these past few days?

Just tried it and its not working for me either. I will post a message on the hanzi grids topic, he may not be aware its not working.

There is a problem with Hanzi Grids at the moment. The developer (imron) is aware of it. Hopes to have up and running again soon.

Yes.  I'm currently having some hosting problems and have had a very unresponsive web host.  Should be up and running again in the next few days.

Should be fixed again now.  Anyway still seeing a white page will have the old IP address in a DNS cache somewhere (either your computer or your ISP).  That problem will fix itself automatically in the next few hours when the cache expires.
