Hey guys, quick question, my book says that you cannot say in chinese, "I liked him for a year." Because the chinese verb for "to like" is the wrong type of verb. So, therefore, is there anyway possible to express this idea in chinese?

I'm not fluent but I'd like to give this one a shot (if I'm wrong at least I will have learned something too ):

有一年我喜欢他。

Does that work?

or 我爱他爱了一年（之久）。

or 我爱了他一年之久。 works too.

So, therefore, is there anyway possible to express this idea in chinese?

Thanks, that is what I thought, but my book says because 喜欢 is a stative verb, that you cannot say that. Oh well.
