Seeking relatively simple texts about global issues and technology

Hello!

 

I am looking for texts on global issues and technology. They should ideally be for a beginner or intermediate learner, so they need not be too in depth. Dialogues, articles, journals, essays or just about any format would do. I prefer online resources, but book format could work.

 

By global issues I mean poverty, war, environmental, etc.

 

By technology I mean computers, mobile technology, video games, etc.

Hello. I don't know of any resources tailored specifically to what you are asking for, but I have found the BBC Chinese website good for your general purpose when studying Chinese. The articles are fairly short and many in number, covering a variety of topics, so I find it a valuable resource in learning Chinese.

There's very little out there that is suited to the beginner and intermediate learner. The chairman's bao is probably the closest thing I can think of.

There's also an website called Decipher that has a phone app too. Pretty similar to Chairman's Bao

For tech I just read TechCrunch in Chinese.  The articles are short and not terribly complex so maybe upper intermediate level.

 

Otherwise might be worth using something like Slow Chinese, Chinese Pod etc which have relatively simple texts on a variety of topics

Chairmans Bao also already mentioned.

Thanks for the suggestions. I never heard of 'the Chairman Bao.' I like that one. Actually, I like them all. But if anyone sees this and can think of others, please do. Dialogues would be especially valuable.
