Bigdumogre Posted August 18, 2015 at 03:59 PM Report Share Posted August 18, 2015 at 03:59 PM These are both zài and confused what situations you would use to write them. Probably pretty obvious but kinda confused. Would it change when speaking do to the context of the sentance?
Yang Chuanzhang Posted August 18, 2015 at 04:45 PM Report Share Posted August 18, 2015 at 04:45 PM 在 means "in/at", 再 means "again". When speaking, they both sound the same.

skylee Posted August 19, 2015 at 05:18 AM Report Share Posted August 19, 2015 at 05:18 AM I guess it is confusing for Mandarin speakers (they don't sound the same in, for example, Cantonese), especially those at a lower level. Take a look at the video below, the typo in the last sentence of the subtitles is exactly a 在/再 mix-up. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VHPzjZxeOhQ

Pedroski Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:25 AM Report Share Posted August 19, 2015 at 10:25 AM When you want example sentences for any word, to see how it is used, you can go to:http://dj.iciba.com/ You may need to click the little link 句库 then you can enter any word, and it will throw up Chinese sentences with that word, click the arrow at the bottom to get more sentences. The English translations are often bad, but I hope the Chinese is good. There is also a translator. Computer translations are not good, but they can give you an idea.
