aprose1977 Posted August 27, 2015 at 04:12 PM Report Share Posted August 27, 2015 at 04:12 PM Hi all I am trying to translate the sentence "I hope that some of you [students] will be inspired to come to England" or "I hope that some of you (students) will become interested in coming to England" So far I have got to 我希望有些同学会来英国 I am finding it difficult to find a grammar pattern to express the idea of being inspired to do something or becoming interested in doing something to fit into this sentence. Can anyone help? TIA
dwq Posted August 27, 2015 at 04:57 PM Report Share Posted August 27, 2015 at 04:57 PM You can use 對…產生興趣 or 對…發生興趣: to take an interest in ... In your case, it could be 我希望有些同学会對来英国產生興趣。 If you want to express "causing sb to become interested in sth" you can also say 令 sb 對 sth 發生興趣 e.g. 我希望我的文章令同学們對来英国產生興趣。

kacycc Posted August 28, 2015 at 02:49 AM Report Share Posted August 28, 2015 at 02:49 AM maybe you can use "我希望部分同学会对到访英国感到雀跃" and "我希望部分同学会对到访英国感兴趣"
