chinesemaster Posted September 22, 2015 at 05:38 AM Report Posted September 22, 2015 at 05:38 AM I heard that it's a speaking test/exam hosted by Hanban. I don't know how well known or useful it is. Anyone already took it? Quote
Video Vocabulary Posted September 22, 2015 at 02:13 PM Report Posted September 22, 2015 at 02:13 PM As far as I know It's one of the requirements for the Confucius Institute Scholarship. Which level of HSKK are you preparing for? Quote
Geiko Posted September 22, 2015 at 04:45 PM Report Posted September 22, 2015 at 04:45 PM I've taken it twice (初级 and 中级), and passed both exams. The exam system is terrible, it doesn't really reflect your speaking abilities (you don't talk to another person, just record yourself while answering some questions or reading out loud a given text). Passing HSKK is really easy (at least for beginner and intermediate level, don't know about the advanced one), they're very generous when grading your exam. I just took it because it was cheap and fun but I don't think it's that useful. See a previous thread about HSKK for more information. If you browse the forums (especially the "Taking the HSK" topic) you'll find many forum members talking about their experience with HSKK (for example, this one or this one). 2 Quote
chinesemaster Posted September 25, 2015 at 08:44 AM Author Report Posted September 25, 2015 at 08:44 AM hmm.. searched the forum for hskk related topics, very interesting:) What I'm curious about is how you guys practice speaking Mandarin. It's not easy to learn speaking it, plus it's a tonal language. Quote
