Song You Shen Posted June 22, 2005 at 06:06 PM Report Posted June 22, 2005 at 06:06 PM I'm looking for the theme song of the Once Upon a Time in China series (it's the song that they play when they are practicing martial arts on the beach during the credits, sorry I don't know the name of it). I have heard it in many different martial arts movies, so I'm assuming it used to be popular. I'd also like to getthe lyrics, if possible (in english and pinyin), so I know what they're saying. If anyone could help me out with this, I'd be eternally greatful! Can't get the tune out of my head... haha. Thanks. Youshen Quote

You can find the song here and here and here. The melody itself is called 將軍令 (Jiangjun Ling), an ancient piece of Chinese music. You can find it here. George Lam's original version is in Cantonese. The Jackie Chan and other versions are in Mandarin. Some words had been adapted to make it sound better in Mandarin. BTW, I have found some mistakes in the Mandarin lyrics (I hate Jackie Chan's singing so had never really listened to what he sang until now) -> 胞僸 bao jin (X) - 胸襟 xiong jin (O) 奮發 fen fa (X) - 發奮 fa fen (O) 活氣 huo qi (X) - 浩氣 hao qi (O) 要出 yao chu (X) - 耀出 yao chu (O) Quote
