Hi,

I recently bought a necklace at a rock and gem show with an unusual carved pendant. Well, it's unusual for Wisconsin, at any rate. The woman didn't know much about it and I was in a hurry at the time. I've been trying to find anything similar to it online, but I can't. I was told the stone might be nephrite jade, and it's very dark with a lot of distinct patterning. Therefore, it didn't take the best photos. I'm sure it's just a trinket, but there are symbols carved into it and I'm curious if they have a meaning.

The pendant is large, maybe 2 or 3 inches across. The center is actually carved out on the inside so the middle portion with the word (?) etched on it can be spun freely. I moved it from the first to the second photo to show you. This means I don't really know which way the symbol is supposed to be facing, so I apologize if you're reading it upside-down.

The first two photos are of one side, and the last two photos are of the other side. The carving isn't real sharp, so I tried to use a flashlight to get good shadow definition.

Thank you for anything you might tell me!
