zhouhaochen Posted November 3, 2015 at 12:48 AM Author Report Share Posted November 3, 2015 at 12:48 AM @Video Vocabulary thanks for the praise and great that you think the book is useful. A video is a good idea, but I personally prefer a book where the to topics are discussed in a bit more depth. The Ebook has so far been a great success with a lot of very positive feedback and quite a few people reading it, so I am very happy with this. It might be a while before I have time for another big project like this though....
imron Posted November 3, 2015 at 01:40 AM Report Share Posted November 3, 2015 at 01:40 AM To chip in with another data point, I really dislike video for learning things. It takes far too long for people to get to the point, you can't skim to find the relevant thing you're looking for, and it's slow (and often clumsy) to repeat a certain part. Perhaps this is more of an issue where I mostly encounter it, which is with computer programming related things, but I don't want to listen to someone waffle on for 15 minutes before getting to the point and having the 1-2 lines of code that demonstrate the actual thing I'm looking for. Ebook FTW.
Shelley Posted November 3, 2015 at 10:37 AM Report Share Posted November 3, 2015 at 10:37 AM Video is good for some things but not this, the example Video Vocabulary showed was not very good, it seemed to get too messy visually and as I was trying to make sense of the visuals, I found I wasn't listening. I think its just fine as an e-book.
zhouhaochen Posted November 6, 2015 at 06:51 AM Author Report Share Posted November 6, 2015 at 06:51 AM I agree, I prefer reading too. It is easier to find an exact piece of information when needed and can explain complex issues in more depth. I think I am just from a generation where we like to read. Video is for relaxation, but for most things that matter, I prefer to read about it.
