GotJack Posted November 8, 2015 at 07:35 AM Report Posted November 8, 2015 at 07:35 AM Im struggling with a grammar structure introduced in my text book, that is emphasising the usage of 过来 at the end of a sentence. The example it gives is : 渴死我了, 喝了两大杯水才缓过来 Im struggling to understand what it means and how to use it. I wonder if you could post your personal translation of this sentence into English, and perhaps give other simple examples that use the same structure. P.S I have searched Chinese Grammar Wiki and come up short PPS- Ive just noticed I wrote the title incorrectly it should be 渴死了我, not 咳死我了 Quote

GotJack Posted November 8, 2015 at 07:50 AM Author Report Posted November 8, 2015 at 07:50 AM Thanks Skylee, I had seen that but it didn't click first time round. So its emphasizing a return to the normal state. Ie I was really thirsty, having drank two large cups of water I am now fine. Quote
