timoho Posted November 19, 2015 at 11:49 PM Report Share Posted November 19, 2015 at 11:49 PM I just wanted to share the experience of my small journey through the Chinese language. In February I began learning Chinese, aiming for HSK Level 4 in October after 8 months of studying. The article is available on my blog at https://blog.timo-horstschaefer.de/2015/11/hsk-4-within-8-months/ So, feel free to give feedback here or leave a comment! Cheers, Timo
Chris Two Times Posted November 20, 2015 at 05:27 AM Report Share Posted November 20, 2015 at 05:27 AM timoho, That's a nice blog post and a nice contribution to our forums here--it's good to see what other people are doing and how they are studying and you present all of that information on your blog--what has worked for you. That's wonderful that you had a chance to come to China and do some short-term study for four weeks. Your enthusiasm for study and working toward your goal is positive and even infectious! Keep on bloggin' and keep on studyin'! Warm regards, Chris Two Times
GotJack Posted November 20, 2015 at 11:51 AM Report Share Posted November 20, 2015 at 11:51 AM Congratulations, HSK 4 in 8 months is good work. Whats the plans now?
timoho Posted November 20, 2015 at 01:09 PM Author Report Share Posted November 20, 2015 at 01:09 PM Right now I'm taking a break from learning Chinese in order to refresh my French for a few months. I'm planning to return to Chinese maybe next summer. If I would continue to study now, my next steps were: Learn some of the 5000 most common Chinese words (e. g. from SUBTLEX-CH) and include them in my Chinese Anki Deck (https://blog.timo-horstschaefer.de/chinese-anki-deck/) Listen to more ChinesePod intermediate and try the advanced levels Read more books and talk to Chinese people When I'm feeling comfortable, it would be nice to try the HSK 5. But I found that many of the HSK words are actually not that common, so I think studying words from a frequency list is more interesting for me. edelweis Posted November 22, 2015 at 09:59 AM Report Share Posted November 22, 2015 at 09:59 AM Oh, you're the anki deck Timo. HS4 is quite impressive. Do you intend to go on to HSK5?
