kavanin Posted December 6, 2015 at 01:12 PM Report Posted December 6, 2015 at 01:12 PM 我这头发就交给你了,你就放心地剪吧,剪什么样是什么样,我都这把年纪了,有什么好看不好看的。 If we add 没 to the last part of this sentence "没有什么好看不好看的", does it still make sense? Does the meaning change? Quote
lips Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:10 PM Report Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:10 PM I would add 没. Quote
anonymoose Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:10 PM Report Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:10 PM Well, yes and no. The overall implication would be the same, but as it is, it is actually in the form of a question. By adding 没, it becomes a statement. 1 Quote
lips Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:29 PM Report Posted December 6, 2015 at 02:29 PM Exactly. The original has 。at the end so it's a statement. Quote

New Members Maple_Tian Posted December 7, 2015 at 02:17 AM New Members Report Posted December 7, 2015 at 02:17 AM In this sentence, 没有什么好看不好看的 is the implication of 有什么好看不好看的, i.e., you are convey the meaning of 没有什么好看不好看的 in an indirect way; If you add 没, you are no longer making 没什么好看不好看的 as an implication; instead, you are stating what you want to convey (i.e., 没什么好看不好看的) directly. New Members nova90 Posted December 11, 2015 at 06:22 AM New Members Report Posted December 11, 2015 at 06:22 AM This structure is a rhetorical question, which seems to be asking but actually express sure(In the context, it means 没有什么好看不好看的). Sometimes we do not use ? when the answer is clear. If you add "没", it becomes a simple statement. Quote
