I would like to ask if its alright to have an Imperial Chinese Dragon Tattoo?

im not sure if it ok. though I'm chinese but born in the philippines. i was just wondering if its ok to have one.

I'm still doing my research but as of the moment what i know it that chinese dragon have 5 toes (referring to the myth regarding the toes of the dragons in asian countries). but in ancient chinese culture it was used by the imperial family.

i just want clarifications as i want to have a chinese dragon tattoo and not the japanese one. i hope you can enlighten me.

You are aware that few Chinese people have tattoos? Because they used to tattoo criminals.

Also there are no more emperors in China nowadays.

My advice is, if you have Chinese relatives, or intend to marry a Chinese person, ask their opinion. Because China has more than 1bn people, of course some will like tattoos, and some will hate tattoos.

Else it would be still be prudent to have the tattoo on a body part covered by clothing in case you have to interact with Chinese people in the future.
