New Members rageone Posted December 30, 2015 at 12:52 PM New Members Report Share Posted December 30, 2015 at 12:52 PM I am studying the I Ching for a college paper and I was wondering if someone could help me with the translation of a few videos. I do not need the full translation of any one of the videos, more the overview of what the authors are describing. I believe them to be describing a method of consulting the I Ching that I have not seen described elsewhere in English. An exact description of the method they are using and describing could be very beneficial for the paper I am writing. I have found three videos that seem to describe the same method. If someone could please either fully transcribe one of the videos or give an overview of the method used in all three it would be very interesting and greatly appreciated. This video seems to be the most descriptive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BhZQlEXBhY This video shows more fully the method that I would like the exact process to:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A2N_hnBX8k This woman seems to deviate from the other two in her method slightly but could be helpful in understanding the method overall: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbeI0nZQyqw Again, thank you to anyone who can help me out, hopefully you find this as interesting as I do. Shelley Posted December 31, 2015 at 10:28 AM Report Share Posted December 31, 2015 at 10:28 AM All three are in Japanese. Throwing the yarrow sticks is quite a usual way to consult the I Ching, I am surprised you can't find anything in English about it. This video took 3 seconds to find https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydNiskT67yA
New Members rageone Posted January 1, 2016 at 12:57 AM Author New Members Report Share Posted January 1, 2016 at 12:57 AM Thank you for looking at it, I guess I need to find a Japanese translation forum haha. The yarrow method is extremely common, however how they are doing it is fundamentally different because they never use the right group of sticks. Thank you for everyone who looked at it, I appreciate it.
