MatthewFTabor Posted January 5, 2016 at 09:44 AM Report Posted January 5, 2016 at 09:44 AM I've been teaching English in China for two months now and one of my main pastimes is riding my bike around and exploring the city. I've tried installing apps like RunKeeper, Strava, MapMyRide, and Endomondo to keep track of places I've visited, but I can't use any of them here because their GPS features don't work without Google Play Services. I have a VPN, but the issue seems to be that I can't even install Google Play without rooting my phone, which isn't something that I know anything about. Do you have any suggestions for similar apps that use Baidu Maps instead of Google? Does Baidu Maps already have this feature? (My Chinese is not very good, so it's possible that I've been overlooking something very obvious this whole time.) It would also be a nice bonus if I could sync photos that I take with my location, though it's certainly not a deal-breaker if I can't do it. Thanks for the help! 1 Quote
MatthewFTabor Posted January 6, 2016 at 08:06 AM Author Report Posted January 6, 2016 at 08:06 AM Yesterday I learned 骑行, so I adjusted my search terms and I was able to find several apps that looked promising. I had originally been searching 自行车 and 单车 in the app store and finding what appeared to be games, but now that I've learned 骑行 the search results are much better! Here is a quick link to the app store if anyone else is interested and wants to try them out: http://android.myapp.com/myapp/search.htm?kw=%E9%AA%91%E8%A1%8C I'll report back with an update after I've had some time to try them out :-) 1 Quote
roddy Posted January 19, 2016 at 09:44 AM Report Posted January 19, 2016 at 09:44 AM Matthew, sorry we weren't able to help out with this. How did those apps you found work out? Quote
