I'm trying to get the meaning behind this 4 characters: "曲院回廊". The text is about the Lingering Garden in Suzhou and this specific part is describing the eastern part, who has its main focus on buildings. I got the meaning of 回廊 but 曲院 is giving me some problems. I don't think it refers to 曲院风荷... but I honestly can't grasp its meaning . I'll attach the original text, in order to give you some context. In Chinese ,these words were used for descriping the eastern part of the Lingering Garden.So "重檐迭楼"means there are so many buildings and they are beautiful;"曲院回廊"means there are so many halls which are bended and long, also, they are beautiful;"奇峰秀石"means there are so many stones which look like little hills and they are beautiful too!
