kkisjj Posted January 13, 2016 at 11:41 AM Report Posted January 13, 2016 at 11:41 AM What do people mean exactly when they say someone is 忠厚?As far as I remember, ‘忠厚的人’ is honest and reliable, right? But does this term somewhat carry a little negative connotation, indicating that the person is a good man but a little dumb, not very sharp? Thank you for any hint! Quote
Lu Posted January 13, 2016 at 01:08 PM Report Posted January 13, 2016 at 01:08 PM To my knowledge, it's like you say: someone who is very honest, to whom it won't even occur to not do the right thing, but who is also a little naive perhaps, or too trusting. 1 Quote
lips Posted January 13, 2016 at 01:46 PM Report Posted January 13, 2016 at 01:46 PM In my mind, no more negative than when one is called honest and trusting in English. Quote
