josesierrag Posted July 3, 2016 at 07:29 PM Report Share Posted July 3, 2016 at 07:29 PM josesierrag - no, the results are not sent to universities and embassies at the same time. But by early July, universities and embassies should already have the results. Now whether or not they want to divulge the information to the student is a whole separate matter. My personal opinion though: by now most embassies have the results. The universities receive the results a little bit earlier of course. Shuoshuo, is it possible that the university tells me that I have won the scholarship and finally my embassy tells me that I haven't? I mean, is it 100% sure that I'll get the scholarship? I ask you that because the university told me I won the scholarship, but I don't know if it is definitive.

hannafit Posted July 3, 2016 at 08:14 PM Report Share Posted July 3, 2016 at 08:14 PM @hannafit I applied for a scholarship to support one year of Chinese language studies in a non-major program and I sent my application to the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC for the Chinese Government Scholarship-Bilateral program. In the end I indicated Tsinghua University as my first choice on my application. Indeed, I hope we get positive news and papers soon. I'd like to head to the Chinese Consulate in New York City in early August to apply for the study visa and then be back in Beijing around September 1st. Even though we are waiting forever for final news, I will anticipate having to move very quickly on things (plane ticket, visa, packing, etc.) once that news breaks. Good luck with everything! Warm regards, Chris Two Times Congratulations!! That is exciting. I hope we find out soon. Do you think it would be okay to email my top choice, Zhejiang University, and ask if they have received word from the CSC? Or should I just wait it out? The waiting is killing me!! I already have a preadmissions letter for Zhejiang so I really hope that's where I'll be going.
hannafit Posted July 3, 2016 at 08:14 PM Report Share Posted July 3, 2016 at 08:14 PM Hi all, After the long wait, finally my waiting is over! I just got an email from Jilin University informing that I won CSC scholarship and ask for my post address. The announcement is not posted on the website yet, but anyway, I am relieved. The lady says that the registration day is September 1, and 2. Now I'm worried when should I arrive on the 1st of Sept? best of luck to you all. The results are coming out! Congratulations!!

ferlingmule Posted July 4, 2016 at 03:18 AM Report Share Posted July 4, 2016 at 03:18 AM @yangyizhi Hi! I was also accepted to Nanjing U for the fall! I know they have the list of those accepted online. I emailed Ms Zhou telling her I saw the acceptance list and asked when I might expect to see paperwork in the mail, but she has yet to get back to me. From reading what people have said I guess the universities are still hearing back final confirmation from CSC directly before they can process anything to us, so that's why the delay. I did the Confucius scholarship a year ago and I feel like I had already gotten visa documents by this time.
Chris Two Times Posted July 4, 2016 at 05:05 AM Author Report Share Posted July 4, 2016 at 05:05 AM This is consistent with the MOFCOM information that I came across on the CSC website. MOFCOM has mentioned all along that they wouldn't release the scholarship winner information until August--and I had understood that it would be late August. I follow this development from afar and with great interest because I am considering applying for a MOFCOM scholarship for 2017-2019. It's enough to have to wait until mid- to late July for information, but would I be able to wait it out until the end of August and then hightail it back to China in time for the start of the academic year in early September? Good luck to all those in wait, both direct-university applicants as well as Embassy and MOFCOM applicants. The sands of the hourglass are running down now. Not much longer...hopefully.
