I just learnt that the Cantonese phrase -- 堪扮爛 -- is actually a loaned phrase from the Malay vocabulary. Anyone heard of that?

We use it in Shanghainese also: 哼孛冷打 hanbelantan (also just: hanbelan), supposedly loaned from Cantonese. Definitely not a phrase, it's pronounced as one word in Shanghainese and just means "total" (一共).

IPA: [ha~ b@ la~ ta~]
