Ian_Lee Posted July 1, 2005 at 09:18 PM Report Posted July 1, 2005 at 09:18 PM In HK, there is a restaurant chain which offers quality food at incredibly low price -- i.e. HK$1,388 for a complete banquet for 12 people that serves shark fin soup, abalone, sea bass,....etc with tips and drinks included. Frankly speaking, such price is even lower than my wedding banquet 20 years ago. Why do those restaurants engage in such cut-throat competition? Many people gossiped that actually the restaurants' owners operated at a loss. The more thriving the business, the more losses they suffer. Then why do they operate at a loss? It is because they are the tools for money laundering of some tycoons from Mainland China. Therefore the more money they lose, the happier they are. And of course so are the customers in HK. Quote

gougou Posted July 2, 2005 at 09:06 AM Report Posted July 2, 2005 at 09:06 AM Hmm, probably there's something I misunderstand here, but what is the use of laundered money if you lost it? Quote
