HHov Posted February 7, 2016 at 10:55 PM Report Posted February 7, 2016 at 10:55 PM Recently, I have started studying Chinese and so far I'm really enjoying it! O have been listening to some easy and catchy mandarin songs, which I did understand after a while. However, the fun would be even greater when I'm able to watch, or listen to, simple audio or video. I'm wondering what level (HSK?) I would need to do so. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for watching material that is very easy? Thanks in advance!! 2 Quote
HerrPetersen Posted February 10, 2016 at 05:48 PM Report Posted February 10, 2016 at 05:48 PM I think at around HSK level 3 you can start to enoy children shows. (qiaohu, ?peipei? zhu) Somewhere around HSK4-5 you can start enjoying basic grown up stuff. (as long as you don't mind to not understand large portions of whatever you are watching). link to peipei zhu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOu2cRa82Lo&list=PLMbhFZ2xxV8mX-Yadkb6IeiexCmFKhKui Quote
roddy Posted February 11, 2016 at 03:42 PM Report Posted February 11, 2016 at 03:42 PM You might want to read this guys experiences. Different circumstances though, as he ONLY watched cartoons. Quote
victor557 Posted February 13, 2016 at 08:28 AM Report Posted February 13, 2016 at 08:28 AM i think that HSK4 level is definitely needed. after that, you'll pick up vocab which is specific to the context of whichever media you're viewing/listening to. actually, engaging in media is a great way to learn after you've got the basics (e.g. HSK4).
