112233 Posted February 9, 2016 at 05:13 AM Report Posted February 9, 2016 at 05:13 AM Hi everyone, I'm thinking about enrolling for a semester and/or potentially a summer school (if this is possible) at a University in Beijing taking classes at the post-grad/undergrad level in Chinese alongside other Chinese students. I would be looking at taking classes in economics, science (ideally in the natural resources space) and potentially politics / philosophy. This seems like a fantastic way to take my Chinese up to a more advanced level and also build a deeper understanding of China. From what I understand to be admitted you need to be enrolled / have finished a Bachelors degree, and have passed HSK6. Would anyone who has done this before be able to offer any information on their experiences? Apologies if this topic has been covered previously. Quote
Chris Two Times Posted February 9, 2016 at 11:46 AM Report Posted February 9, 2016 at 11:46 AM Your timing is perfect--the Chinese Government Scholarship application window is now open to apply for funding for "general scholar". This allows you to do exactly what your plan is. Take a look at the list of Beijing universities and see which ones have programs/areas of studies for which you could use the scholarship and in which you could be a student for a semester or a year. http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/universityen.aspx ...for example, how about Renmin University of China? http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/universityprogramsen.aspx?collegeId=123 Warm regards, Chris Two Times 4 Quote
