Chinese name

Hello everyone, I am currently a high school student living in the US and plan to study Chinese in college along with computer science. I am a profoundly German and Russian, a male, and born in January, 1998. 

I have emailed the professor at my university of choice and they said I could choose my own name for their class starting in fall or they will help me when I get there. I would like to be able to find one out sooner if possible so I came here in hopes that somebody could help me think of a name.

1) Look at famous Chinese people's names.

2) Pick characters that you like from said names.

3) Reassemble them in a new combination.

4) Get the product's quality verified by native speakers.

5) ????

6) Profit.

 

Having said that, and since you said you feel deeply German, you could consider using the character 德 inside your name. It's a popular character with the meaning of virtue. It's frequently used in male names as well as female and it's also there in the Chinese word for Germany.

I would let them help you when you arrive, they will be able to give you a name suitable for your personality and if they are chinese they should know all the right things to choose.

I asked a Chinese friend what their parents would name me, and they said 晓明, it doesn't include a surname but I don't know if this looks like a real name or a good name, thank you.

The same parents from my first post also said another given name could be 梓豪 although when I looked it up 梓 seems to be a female name. I am not very experienced in choose characters for a name. Does this sound like a decent name?

I have still been looking into names, using facebook as a resource to check names validity and came across 凌云龙. I think I like it but I am not sure about Chinese culture and how others would look at the name, if anyone could add some input it would be appreciated, thanks

You don't know any Chinese yet and there is not enough information about you on this thread (eg what your real name or at least part of it is, or if you don't what your Chinese name to have any thing to do with your real name, what you would like your Chinese name to be about, like angle hair? ice cream castles? feather canyons? clouds?). So it is difficult for others to provide input.
