AlanB Posted February 14, 2016 at 09:49 PM Report Posted February 14, 2016 at 09:49 PM I have been looking for decent iOS apps, I currently learn vocab from memrise but I feel like it's not as good as some other online lessons for PC and since I am often not at home I'd like a mobile alternative also, they do not need to be free but expensive pricing could be a turn down. Thanks in advanced for replies. Quote
Shelley Posted February 15, 2016 at 03:09 PM Report Posted February 15, 2016 at 03:09 PM You don't say what level you are at. This little app might be suitable for you, I use it and find it really useful http://www.hellochinese.cc/ Here is the developers topic here on the forum http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/49944-hellochinese-%E2%80%93-new-chinese-mandarin-learning-app-learn-chinese-speak-chinese/#comment-382947 I did a little review in my blog here http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/blog/108/entry-605-my-learning-materials-and-resources/ My blog also has loads more about the things I use for study, you might find that helpful too. I would highly recommend Pleco, IMHO it is something no student of chinese should be without. P.S. Hello chinese is free, ad free and in app purchase free. 1 Quote
Flickserve Posted February 15, 2016 at 03:59 PM Report Posted February 15, 2016 at 03:59 PM Best if you give an example of what PC apps you are using. Then people can give a more targetted suggestion of an iOS. Quote
AlanB Posted February 15, 2016 at 05:20 PM Author Report Posted February 15, 2016 at 05:20 PM I am completely new I guess you could say, I am currently not using any desktop app but from what I read online, the iOS apps aren't as good. I find memrise to be good for vocab but doesn't do anything else besides that. Quote
Flickserve Posted February 16, 2016 at 05:15 AM Report Posted February 16, 2016 at 05:15 AM I only use pleco. My HK friend tried it out (totally non techie guy) and he rates it highly. Quote
