New Members fredzorbas Posted February 24, 2016 at 06:54 PM New Members Report Share Posted February 24, 2016 at 06:54 PM The attachment is an antique I purchased in Thailand in the mid 1980's. I was told it was a gift, given by Buddhist Temples to people leaving donations. Can you please translate into English, the four symbols seen in the attached photo. Thank you very much, Fred Zorbas
xiaoheiyang Posted February 25, 2016 at 07:01 AM Report Share Posted February 25, 2016 at 07:01 AM The four characters are: left: 梭(suō) 吞(tūn) However, I'm not sure the meaning. Maybe Buddha's name? right: 佛(fó) 祖(zǔ) 佛祖 (fó zǔ ) that's Buddha.
lips Posted February 25, 2016 at 08:03 AM Report Share Posted February 25, 2016 at 08:03 AM 梭呑 is the buddha's name, or how this buddha is called. It could be from the name of the place where the buddha statue is located in Thailand.
